2026 Results & Event Photos

The 2026 National Invitational once again brought together players from across Australia for three days of competition at The National Golf Club. Across the tournament, players enjoyed competitive golf across Gunnamatta, The Old and Moonah courses, together with the camaraderie and hospitality that have become a feature of the event.

Monday 2 March – Cape Schanck Trophy
The tournament commenced on the Gunnamatta course with the Cape Schanck Trophy, an individual Stableford event supported by UChoose Golf.

• Cape Schanck Trophy & Silver Division (GA 0 to 15.7)
  

  • Winner: Maree Coulson (Launceston GC) – 41pts

  • Runner-up: Julie Duthie (Elanora CC) – 38pts

• Bronze Division (GA 15.8 to 25)
  

  • Winner: Joanna Ryan (Elanora CC) – 40pts

  • Runner-up: Amanda Lekias (Lake Karrinyup CC) – 39pts

Tuesday 3 March – The National Invitational Team Event
The National Invitational Team Event was played on The Old Course, with four-player teams competing in an aggregate Stableford format.

• Winning Team: Avondale GC – 117pts
  Jo McCamley, Fiona Shortis, Kathy Lawson-Brown, Libby Mykes

• Runners-up: Royal Queensland GC – 107pts
  Kim Storie, Rosemary McKeon, Robyn Byrnes, Susan Mitchell

Individual performances were also recognised:

• Best Individual Stableford – Silver Division (GA 0 - 15.7)

  • Winner: Fiona Shortis (Avondale GC) – 43pts

  • Runner-up: Zoee Dolling (Kooyonga GC) – 41pts

• Best Individual Stableford – Bronze Division (GA 15.8 - 25)

  • Winner: Nicole Wyrill (Elanora CC) – 39pts

  • Runner-up: Jo Bayley (Cronulla GC) – 38pts
    

• The National Cup – Best Combined Stableford (Monday & Tuesday)

  • Winner: Fiona Shortis (Avondale GC) – 76pts (countback)

  • Runner-up: Jo Bayley (Cronulla GC) – 76pts

Wednesday 4 March – Lady Nelson Bell
The tournament concluded on the Moonah course with the Lady Nelson Bell, played as a 4BBB Stableford event and supported by Maxwell Williams and Alba Thermal Springs & Spa.

• Winners: Melanie McKean & Tina Tamhane (Royal Canberra GC) – 49pts (countback)

• Runners-up: Joanna Ryan & Nicole Wyrill (Elanora CC) – 49pts

With another successful National Invitational completed, we thank all participants for their contribution to another memorable event. A special acknowledgement goes to the dedicated volunteer team and the Tournament and Event Committee, whose support and commitment helped ensure the smooth running of the tournament.
