2025 Results & Event Photos

The 2025 National Invitational once again brought together talented players from across Australia competing alongside teams from regional Victoria and Melbourne. Across three days of competition, players enjoyed competitive golf, camaraderie, and outstanding hospitality.

Monday 3 March – Cape Schanck Trophy
The tournament commenced on the Moonah course with the prestigious Cape Schanck Trophy.

  • Cape Schanck Trophy & Silver Division (GA 0 to 15.5)

    • Winner: Fiona Shortis (Avondale GC) – 38pts

    • Runner-up: Esther Carroll (Concord GC) – 37pts (countback)

 

  • Bronze Division (GA 15.6 - 25)

    • Winner: Belinda Holt (Albert Park WGC) – 37pts

    • Runner-up: Jane Mann (Barwon Heads GC) – 36pts

Following their rounds, players gathered for welcome drinks, reconnecting with friends and competitors from previous years.

Tuesday 4 March – The National Invitational Team Event
The National Invitational Team Event, played on The Old course, saw four-player teams vying for top honours in the best 3-of-4 stableford format.

  • Winning Team: Royal Queensland GC – 113pts

    • Kim Storie (36), Rosemary McKeon (36), Susan Mitchell, Robyn Byrnes (41)

  • Runners-up: Lake Karrinyup CC – 103pts

    • Jillian Dorrington, Amanda Lekias (38), Sheila Klimczyk (31), Regina Gaujers (34)

Individual performances were also recognised:

  • Best Individual Stableford – Silver Division (GA 0 - 15.5)

    • Winner: Christine Faram (Metropolitan GC) – 41pts

    • Runner-up: Moon Cheon (Rossdale GC) – 37pts (countback)

  • Best Individual Stableford – Bronze Division (GA 15.6 - 25)

    • Winner: Robyn Byrnes (Royal Queensland GC) – 41pts

    • Runner-up: Amanda Lekias (Lake Karrinyup CC) – 38pts (countback)

  • The National Cup – Best Combined Stableford (Monday & Tuesday)

    • Winner: Christine Faram (Metropolitan GC) – 73pts

    • Runner-up: Robyn Byrnes (Royal Queensland GC) – 72pts

That evening, the Presentation Dinner provided a fitting celebration of the tournament’s achievements. Players enjoyed a wonderful evening, and we extend our gratitude to our event sponsors, Alba Thermal Springs, for their generous support.

Wednesday 5 March – Lady Nelson Bell
The tournament concluded on the Gunnamatta course with the Lady Nelson Bell event, played in perfect conditions.

  • Winners: Samantha Greaves & Angela Donaghey (Kogarah GC) – 43pts (countback)

  • Runners-up: Laura Wise & Sandra Grieve (Albert Park WGC) – 43pts

With another successful National Invitational completed, we thank all participants for making the event so memorable. A special acknowledgement goes to the dedicated volunteer team and the Tournament and Event Committee, whose hard work and commitment ensured the smooth running of the event. Their efforts are truly appreciated by all involved.
