Celebrating Women in Golf
2025 National Invitational
3 - 5 March, 2025
The 10th Anniversary of The National Invitational will be held from Monday 3 to Wednesday 5 March 2025. Since the inaugural event in 2016, The National Invitational has become a highly popular event in our women’s golfing calendar.
Teams from across Australia have enjoyed The National’s hospitality and the challenges of our courses. Many clubs return each year for this three-day event, renewing friendships from previous years and meeting new players.
Invitations were emailed to all clubs on our mailing list in early October so clubs can select their team players before entries open. Each club is limited to one team, with the same four players required to participate on all three days. Priority will be given to interstate and regional Victorian clubs, with remaining spots filled on a first-come basis.
Entries open on Friday 1 November 2024 and close on Saturday 30 November 2024.
The maximum handicap at the time of entry is GA 25.0, which will be the limit used for the event, even if a player’s GA rises above 25.0 after entering.
Pricing details are included in the invitation.

Background
The National Invitational initiative celebrates women’s golf and the important role it plays in the health and well-being of women throughout their lives. The ambition of the National Invitational is to introduce a new multi-day event to complement the existing women’s tournaments program with the hope it will become a premier event in the women’s golfing calendar.
The idea originated from the enjoyment and comradery experienced when golfers from different clubs get together to compete and socialise. The National has a successful annual three-day event for men, the Men’s Senior Open. The National Invitational offers a similar experience for women.
The inaugural event was held in March 2016 and offered women golfers the chance to play three of the top 100 Australian golf courses in one tournament. Coinciding with International Women’s Day, more than 100 players representing 21 clubs participated in the first Women’s National Invitational at The National Golf Club on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.
The National is committed to the success of this event and the rare opportunity it provides for women golfers from around Australia to play three of our four outstanding courses – The Old, Moonah, Gunnamatta and Long Island.
The success of the event during the past six years is underlined by many players returning and bringing their friends along to enjoy the National Invitational.
