2021 Results & Event Photos

After 12 months of unusual times, it was wonderful to see the clubhouse full of players enjoying the golf and hospitality during the 2021 Natianal Invitational. As one player noted, the 2020 event was the last event before COVID-19 and the 2021 was the first event they had played after all the lockdowns. There was a great feeling of anticipation to be playing golf and renewing friendships.

The three courses at Cape Schanck were played - on the Monday, the Cape Schanck Trophy, an individual Stableford event, was played on the Moonah Course in windy, cool conditions and the last few groups had some steady rain while finishing. The winner was Rong Kwok-Xu (10) with 38pts.

The National Invitational Teams event (Best 3 of 4 scores) was played on the Tuesday on the Gunnamatta course. 27 teams experienced the newly designed Tom Doak course. The team from 13th Beach were the winners with 102 pts. The best indivudal score on the day was Sue Scott 40 pts (13th Beach).

The National Cup, the best individual score on the Monday and Tuesday, was won by Vicki Philp (21) 67pts.

The players all enjoyed a banquet dinner on the Tuesday evening and the prizes for the first two days were presented. A special thank you to Resort Life, distrubitors of Nivo, Daily Sports and Bette & Court, who sponsored our event.

On Wednesday the Lady Nelson Bell was played on the Old Course - a fantastic 4BBB score of 46pts by Rong Kwok-Xu and Bo Yang won the day.

A big thank you to the many volunteers and staff who helped during the three days.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to The National next year on 7th - 9th March 2022 for another “Celebration of Women’s Golf”
